Conflict: IdeasTap Photographic Award (23-30)
Currently many protests, despite all peaceful intentions, do not require much to boil over as discontent grows. On both sides, those taking part in these actions are dehumanised, generalised by the media and the country as a whole. It is much easier to talk about ‘kettling’ or ‘horse charges’ if it is a scary, faceless mob, just as it easier to swear at a policeman if you forget he has child. Although I was part of the protest in this case, I was determined to try and capture not just the conflict of two mobs, but the individuality within it.
